Hi Greg,

My name is Craig Arsenault and you did insulated our house in the Glebe last week. I just wanted to thank you again very much - you had come highly recommended and surpassed any expectations I had of you. The work you did was excellent and your father & yourself (and your outside worker) were extremely nice and very professional. We appreciated all the extras you did as well - the front & back doors are far less drafty now and it's great.

I also wanted to let you know that it has made a huge difference to our house. Both Kelly and I have noticed a drastic change - I honestly wasn't expecting this much difference, but it is very noticeable. The furnace doesn't come as often, the rooms retain warmth longer, and you were right -> the back bedroom (where we couldn't do anything about) is definitely warmer than it was (not as warm as the other rooms, but an improvement over what it was).

My little house is so much warmer! Thanks for your excellent work. It is actually pleasant to spend time in the kitchen; we can walk barefoot without fear of frostbite! And, it's so pleasant to be in the living room without all the drafts. You've done a terrific job.

I will be sending you a cheque within a couple of weeks for the balance owed on my account. Again, thank you for your flexibility. It made a big difference to get all the work done at once. I hope that the price you charged me is fair to you, and reflects all the materials and your team's efforts. Mr. Parmenter said it was a bargain! My rebate from the federal and provincial governments will just about cover the entire cost of the insulation work. Even without the rebates, the added comfort at home made the investment worthwhile.

Greg Woolner of Wooly Insulation has quite simply been the best contractor I have had to my home; and I have had a lot of them!  His work (and some work I did that he showed me how to do) resulted in a greater than 14% reduction in heat loss from my home.  Wooly Insulation Inc. contributed to a 45% reduction in air-leakage and equivalent hole area in my home!  And Greg did the work when he said he would do it and for what he quoted.  Not to mention he was a pleasure to work with.

My family and I moved into a beautiful older home in Oakville in 2006.  The house was about 40 years old and had the creeks and drafts to go with it!  Being that we loved the area and were planning to stay in the home for the long-term we started looking at making the interior more comfortable, economical and ecological.  I knew I was going to have to replace the furnace and air conditioner when we bought the house but there was still some life in them so it gave me some time to plan the job.

Step one was to enter Natural Resources Canada’s ecoENERGY Retrofit Homes grant program.  This gave me a baseline from which to work; and told me quantitatively just how drafty the house was!

I am a professional engineer by profession so coordinating work was no stranger to me so I went out for competitive bids to add additional insulation to my attic, improve my attic ventilation, do comprehensive air-leakage control and do some bathroom fan and duct changes.  Wooly Insulation Inc. came in with the best quotation.

Greg took my attic from R-24 to R-50, installed new high efficiency low noise bathroom fans, installed insulated duct work from the fans exiting the roof, insulated a china cabinet extension which went into my garage with SM board and helped me with a comprehensive air-leakage control program throughout my home.  Greg helped seal up gaps around doors, windows and baseboards – some of which I could literally see outside before he did his work!

Bottom line is my ecoENERGY Retrofit Homes post audit showed that air-leakage and equivalent hole area had been reduced by 45%!  My home went from a third quartile air-leakage home to a first quartile air-leakage home.  That means that before Greg started, up to 75% of homes of the same general size and age as mine had better control on air-leakage than I did.  After Greg finished his work only 25% of homes of the same general size and age as mine had better control on air-leakage!

I would, and have, recommended Wooly Insulation Inc. as a highly principled, highly skilled professional organization.  They bring good value for the money you spend and give you that value in an extremely professional manner.

Hi Greg,

I just wanted to give you an update in regards to the garage attic which you added insulation to. The rooms are definitely warmer and when we do turn on the electric fireplace in the master bedroom it heats up about 2 minutes and retains the warmth now. Thank you very much.

I was at the Home Depot today & a young man started to load 3 carts of stuff onto my trailer.
